Masala Khichdi Recipe with Veggies

A delicious and nutritious masala khichdi is made with rice, yellow mung dal, various veggies, ginger powder, turmeric powder, fenugreek seeds, coriander seeds, salt, black pepper powder, and water. You can have this substantial lunch at any time of day. You can easily buy these organic spices online.


Guidelines:


  • After soaking the rice and yellow mung dal for an hour, carefully rinse.

  • Grind the seeds of 1/2 tsp of fenugreek and coriander.

  • Add one tablespoon of powdered ginger and grinded seeds to preheat ghee or mustard oil.

  • Simmer for a further 15 to 20 minutes, after adding your vegetables.

  • Combine the rice and moong dal with one teaspoon of turmeric powder in the water. Give it a 15–20 minute simmer.

  • Toss in the coriander and season with salt and pepper.

  • The dish is now best enjoyed in a bowl with lime juice.
